knitting by my hands and from my heart

The yarn stash just keeps on growing! I'm a wife, a mom, a sister, a daughter, and a friend who works in Corporate America, lives in the Boston, MA area and is always looking for more time to knit.

Baby hat with leftover sock yarn

I finished this hat last night for a co-worker whose wife is due next Friday with a baby boy. I used the leftover yarn I had from my MIL's socks and I had just enough--it worked out perfectly. I made it with some guidance from Ann Budd's Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns. When I originally bought this book I didn't think it would be that useful, but now I think it is more useful than any book I own.

That is really cute! I like how it turned out.

I just got the Ann Budd sweater book and Charlene Schurch's sock book (kinda like the Ann Budd book, but for socks) as my two new resources. I don't get a lot of knitting books, but these definitely seemed like two of the most useful things I could pick.
