Sunday, December 16, 2007 Festive Occasion Jumper
Pattern: Festive Occasion Jumper/November 2006 Creative Knitting
Finished Size: 23" (chest); 19½" (length); 18 months size. Yarn: Plymouth Jelli Beenz (75% Acrylic 25% Wool; 107 yd/50g): #1386 red, 5 skeins Needles: Clover Bamboo US 6 & 8 circular Changes: Instead of crocheting around neck and armholes to create a picot edge, I did an i-cord edge on the neckline and chained along the armholes. Comments: Very simple knit and it's comfortable for a young child to wear. I also like that the pattern goes all the way up to size 6 yrs. ![]() C loved modeling it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: children's knits, Festive Occasion Jumper Thursday, December 13, 2007 Snow Day
I took a snow day today. The weather is intense outside. Up to a foot of snow expected in the Boston area today--all happening into the evening commute. No thank you. It's pretty to watch from inside a warm house
making gingerbread cookies! ![]() I just ate one with a cup of tea--heaven. I also made about 4 lbs of fudge:
Sunday, December 09, 2007 I love this sweater!
B's twisted cables pullover from Kids' Knitted Sweaters & More is a challenge but yet still not difficult to knit--it's rated intermediate and that's about the skill level I like. The cotton is beautiful to work with and I love the color. The twisted cable yoke has proven to be a bit of a pain, I've tinked back a few times where the increases have gone wrong when I've gotten interrupted or daydreamed--I'm looking forward to the yoke being finished so I don't have to concentrate so much! The 'make one' knitwise and the 'make one' purlwise's are getting old.
![]() I've put the sock aside for now--just need to finish the foot and toe, oh and then do a whole other one. . . . ![]() I still need to get that ribbon for C's dress/jumper! Labels: children's knits, socks, twisted cables pullover |
