Sunday, December 16, 2007 Festive Occasion Jumper
Pattern: Festive Occasion Jumper/November 2006 Creative Knitting
Finished Size: 23" (chest); 19½" (length); 18 months size. Yarn: Plymouth Jelli Beenz (75% Acrylic 25% Wool; 107 yd/50g): #1386 red, 5 skeins Needles: Clover Bamboo US 6 & 8 circular Changes: Instead of crocheting around neck and armholes to create a picot edge, I did an i-cord edge on the neckline and chained along the armholes. Comments: Very simple knit and it's comfortable for a young child to wear. I also like that the pattern goes all the way up to size 6 yrs. ![]() C loved modeling it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: children's knits, Festive Occasion Jumper Tuesday, November 13, 2007 a quick in-between post!
In-between knitting B's sweater (I need to purchase sizes 6 & 8 16" needles before I can begin) and C in her new dress/jumper:
A picture of her jumper (before I've woven a ribbon in the bottom of it): ![]() B will not have his sweater before I take the Christmas picture and may not have it in time for Christmas at all--busy times . . . -- but he'll have it soon enough to wear this winter. I've started socks for myself with Online sock yarn--the colors are very different but I like them for some funky weekend socks: ![]() I also purchased a Canon Powershot SD1000 Digital Elph camera--hoping these and following blog pics are somewhat improved! I love the Fall. Pumpkins, apples, my birthday, Halloween, B's birthday, Thanksgiving . . . . getting ready for Christmas . . . .
It's been a month since my last post here. Not that I had nothing to blog about here--that's definitely not it. Just that life got in the way. In a good way. Work has been crazy-busy. It looks like Tuesday will be my work-at-home (WAH) day. I've had the laptop for months now, have had the VPN access for a while too and I could WAH now, but it's my decision to wait until the first of the year. I want to have 'face' time right now & learn the job more. The corp. job tends to get in the way of my more important job . . . FAMILY. ![]() ![]() ![]() and just today I peeled, chopped, measured, sifted, and stirred and ended up with: apple crisp: ![]() apple pie: ![]() ![]() and I'm making a 'butternut squash and apple soup.' In case you're wondering when I do this: C's NAP-TIME & B is usually outside working with dad in the yard. and the KNITTING! ![]() C's dress should be finished by now--I'm disgusted with myself that it's not . . . as well as . . . the heart baby blanket (I decided it may be going to my cousin and not a co-worker--co-worker's tend not to appreciate handmade gifts--at least some--and well, I can't deal with that, and so I won't) ![]() But as you can see, it's coming along and the knitting is still here and I'm still plugging along . . . . somehow. I will be re-visiting blogland soon, I have missed u all! Labels: baby blankets, children's knits, cooking/baking, Festive Occasion Jumper |
